First of all I would like to point out that I am not jumping on the latest baking craze or bandwagon. Some of you may know (via here or Twitter) that my wife has a small baking outfit doing cakes, from the biggest to the smallest. But that's not for this thread.
(Various breads)
Although a lot of you know that I work in the NHS, what you may not know is that while I was a student, I had some catering experiences in professional kitchens. This has left me with a really big passion for food - mealtimes are usually great in our house, with us cooking almost everything from scratch.
This brings me on to bread. I haven't bought a loaf for months as I got tired of eating the cotton-wool-esque stuff they pass off as bread in the shops. Instead, I've been baking my own and the taste is fantastic. However, as my experience was of cooking main meals, and baking is another area all of its own, occasionally I require advice and obtaining this is difficult. I've tried tweeting Paul Hollywood for help on getting tin loaves to rise but he doesn't reply and anyway, the wife has since discovered that he's a rednose.
(Bad, bad kopite)
So, much like the recipes thread in the Ale House Forum, I'm rather optimistically hoping the good folk of GOT will share any baking expertise here, on bread or indeed any form of baking. Either that or I'm hoping we have a few yeastie boys or even master bakers in our midst.
