The problem is he can't actually do his job, which is coaxing the politicians into revealing information about their plans because he's so unrelentingly hostile that they just clam up.

I'm not saying that I dislike him because he's mean to politicians. I dislike him because he's useless to me as a voter.
I never come away from a paxman interview knowing more about who to vote for.
