Once a blue always a....
I am sure this is the wrong place but I need to unload some grief
Charlie died today
We were soldiers together
between us we served mire than 50 years
We were athletes together
We played rugby
We were colleagues and
We were friends
6 years ago he contracted MMD
He announced it with dignity
He has taken part in every awareness raising event you can imagine
He described gently how it is to lose you bodily functions step by step With quiet dignity and no shortage of humour
No he wasn’t a blue
But he left today in the arms of his dedicated wife and daughter ... quietly
I miss him already and holding it together for the next hour or two is going to be tough and will probably involve alcohol
Major Charles Dowie stand down your service is over

I’m so sorry for your lost @fandjango loosing a good friend is always such a tragedy that can inflict a lot of pain in our heart so I’m glad you are unloading your grief here and are giving us the opportunity to support you through this hard time. While it may take a long time for you to recover from this loss, when someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure, it is these memories what will help you get through this hard time and it seems you have had a lot of those with Charlie so go back to those and let them fill you joy whenever you are feeling your worst. X
