Excellent result and performance from the team this morning. Well worth getting up at 03.50. I have one issue with what I saw. It's a bit pedantic but when I noticed it at 04.10 I was tired and a bit grumpy.
Why did we not have our players names on the back of their shirts? It's a petty issue but an important one. Initially I though it was to do with competition rules or something, but then noticed the Juve players had theirs on. This US tour is a fantastic opportunity to show case our team/players and increase the profile of both so we can capitalise and improve commercial opportunities in the states.
We want our players to be recognised more over there, so why wouldn't we have their names on their shirts in a game that got massive coverage all over the states. A game in which we beat the Italian champions, and played them off the park at times.
Maybe there's simple explanation. Maybe I just need to go back to bed
it just struck me as a missed opportunity.
