I had a parent complain

We clashed a lot. We are different. I'm affectionate and she is more reserved. She lacked communication and couldn't open up to me. It's probably for the best we walk away but I spend so many years raising her daughter as my own child and now won't get to see her again. That's what is going to tip me over the edge more than anything.
Have you produced a PowerPoint presentation with these issues clearly listed? Have you told the daughter that her mother is a cold, uncaring harpy? Have you thought about mail order brides?

If a 10 year old was desperate for a pee 5 minutes after break, then they were certainly aware of the fact during their break and knew what to do. Schools have these rules and kids are frequently reminded of them which is why most kids manage. Where there's a medical condition, obviously allowance are made (so long as parents make the school aware - which they don't always do until after the event).

They wanted to miss some maths!

As was said, the kid was desperate on the way home. This was probably an hour or more later. In the meanwhile, they could've gone in the way out of school before getting into the car. But they didn't, meaning they weren't as desperate as they made out.

That's ridiculous and out of touch with how things are done these days. Let the kid go, if it becomes a pattern then do something. I'm not even sure why any of us seriously responded to this.

I didn't say it was her mums, we buried her auntie at her mums funeral but she'll never know. I'll do whatever it takes to commit to this relationship, unless of course she asks to use the toilet whilst I'm teaching her a valuable lesson, you have to draw the line somewhere.

I love this post. Amazing work.

Education advice from a nation with a truly enormous set of education issues.
