Didn't swerve it but bought a minidisc player in about 97. Thought it was boss at the time. Short lived dream as mp3 players weren't far behind at all.

I remember those. One of my mates got one when we were in like year 7. I was sooooo jealous.
The iPad.
Never seen the point, never will. If I want work done mobile, I'll use a phone. If I want to type, I'll use a laptop. If I want things seriously done, I'll use a PC.
I can understand others will disagree with me, but I'm glad I personally didn't get one as it would have been an expensive ornament.
Tablets are just another way of doing things. if you're happy with your set up, that's cool. The iPad.

Bought a sound card for my pc with an optical output. Thought I was the shiznit.I had this very same model. The controls on the cord were particularly useful. I loved my minidisc, I was lucky to own a very nice Sony Minidisc hifi (before it was stolen when I was burgled in my first week at uni - bloody scousers), so could rip albums straight onto the minidiscs. On long-play you could get 4 to a disc. Sound quality was excellent.
It was a decent stop-gap between CDs/tape and MP3. Its only the fact the gap was quite short that makes the minidisc seem like redundant tech.
The only thing holding me back from purchasing an Apple product is their cringe-worthy and infuriating marketing. Their latest advert just makes me want to throw a brick through the screen. Don't even get me started on the quegs who queue up all week just to be the first to get one of their products.
