I was wondering what peoples thoughts were on this subject.Do you believe in it ? Has anyone been hypnotised before either in a stage show or through hypnotherapy and if so what was/is it like. For me I am not too sure but it fascinates me.

you cant hypnotise human being who doesnt want be hypnotised. you have to be open for it. nothing scary about it

I got hypnotised for a laugh in a pub one. Seem to remember playing along. But I was still going round the pub on me hands and knee's making sheep noises.

Thank god I weren't in wales!

Not having it. They can wake someone up by clapping and make someone do anything they want by clicking there fingers?

Why aren't these people ruling the world??

Or are they!?

Sleep *clicks fingers

If you're still reading this, you have now been hypnotised by Dr Alio

Pull your pants down and shout to your nearest coworker that you have a tiny winky

Was on a small hypnosis-show in Norway. Apparently one of norways most famous hypnotist. I was not one of the chosen to be hypnotised, and it all looked very much like acting from the people on the stage. Also, the people who got to come on the stage had seats with " reserved" on them.

I think it's real, mainly because a teacher of mine years back got hypnotized at a Derren Brown show, but half of the time I think it's fake because people just fail at it.

Although a friend's dad of mine had hypnotherapy to stop smoking and it worked but someone else I know it didn't work, so it depends on the person.

Placebo effect. If you believe that hypnosis is real and that you have been hypnotised to stop smoking I guess that will make it easier to stop.

That is basically what hypnosis is, making someone believe their state of mind has changed and that they're hypnotized. It's all about the person, if they allow it, they'll be hypnotized. If they're not the kinda person to allow it, they won't.

It works. Just not sure how long for. Was on holiday and me and my mate got up on the stage, basically on the back of my mate telling the hypnotist that hypnosis was a load of b*llocks.

The guy did actually say if you are not open to it there is no way it can work. I was desperate for the toilet and therefore purposefully didn’t listen to the hypnotising part as I was worried I would at some point wet myself in front of a load of people. My mate on the other hand went under. He did all sorts like hump like a rabbit, thought he was glued to a seat, etc etc.

When he came round, he freaked out a little bit, he said he felt like he had either been drugged or dreaming. Some things he couldn’t remember doing until I told him the next day.

So yeah it does work, but I think it could be a short term thing only. Not sure how useful it would be in curing fears.
