There's a far bigger and more dangerous hurricane than the one that just wiped out Houston called Irma, and it's just about to go north of the Caribbean. Current track takes it right into Florida, possibly as a category 5 once it hits the warm waters above Cuba.

If it goes anywhere near a heavily populated area this storm will remembered for a long, long time.

In case you got any family or friends in Bahamas, Turks and Caicos or Florida keep a close watch.

Up to a category 5 now, 175mph sustained wind. Wherever this makes landfall is completely and utterly vaporised. The most powerful and biggest for a few years and still got warmer water to travel over so will get stronger.

Woke up to this news and woke up the missus as she is Dominicana...it's strange to say but there was relief to discover they were likely to be hit by 'just' tropical storms. It's seems a rarity that one so strong hits the area and at least the Haiti part of the island is not hit. Crossed fingers that it doesn't go close, even though that probably means somewhere else will be devastated. not good

Aye it was looking moody for the Dominican yesterday but it is going north and is *at the moment* and thin storm at 45mph so should just be tropical storm winds only felt on the north coast. God helps wherever it lands.
