What would you give for Sharp playing now, btw? Didn't have a great game there like, but the control and touch were obvious and set him apart. Make him Lukaku's coach instead of the galoot.

Notice Howard's marshalling of the troops at all times too. Jagielka take note...mind you he's beyond help that feller. Interesting to read HKs comments this week regarding Jagielka's latest failure to lead, saying there's no way a Ratcliffe or Watson would have let that nonsense concerning the pen develop.

if lukaku missed that rebound off the keeper he would be booed for 12 weeks straight

Howard was really head and shoulders above everyone else that night on a very icy pitch , just strolled the game
never wasted a ball.Irvine looked a good player as well but never really made an impression overall.

Say what you like about Kendall, as a player he was absolutely brilliant, and to think he never got a cap and loads of
donkeys did, shameful.
that control and reverse pass off a poor stevens pass was superb

i'd be all for that...anything to keep him away from interviews/press lol

remember reading colin harveys book, and him saying all the staff tried to convince howard to pick himself more such was his class, also said that he was always the guy people wanted on their team in 5aside sessions as he never gave the ball away, i suppose they might have just been a bunch of massive brown nosers, probably more likely that kendall was just a class act
Was a brilliant player in his pomp. Genuinely felt he kept us up virtually single handed the season before we swapped him for Big Bob. Outstanding player of the season in a team that was really struggling. Think he also got Echo Merseyside player of the year the same season. Done by vote so I think even RS must have voted for him. Not sure exactly which season. Never played for England haha. What a joke. Harvey 1 cap, Malta away!!!!

'Probably, more likely...class act'??

No 'kin doubt!

I remember Him, in a struggling Blues team one season in the early 70's, basically keeping us out of the bottom places on his own, maybe even keeping us from getting relegated, playing a struggling United, who had Best ( at centre mid) doing much the same ( he though later said Ah 'kit CBA'd with this and spewed it soon after and they went down) They were the best 2 players on the pitch by a mile

Howard's reward?? get sold to Bir-minge-ham as part of the Latchford deal, that's Everton that is, yet he still loves us.

See him in that video, just what we're missing, straight at the reff about the villa player in the goal mouth.

I just missed the Holy Trinity,we had a few injury problems that year(nothing changes does it?!!),and Howie announced he was going to "help out",it was exciting for the likes of me,and the games he played his class shone through and he really helped the younger players along,I think he was only in for three or four games but it was great while it lasted:)
