Fair play that it is now improving. It was a lot better last night
…I’ll be trying it out on Sunday. I’ll give it the full Judith Chalmers treatment and report back afterwards.
No issues at all in getting served.
The next one will be the length of time it takes to get out. The whole stadium had practically emptied and club view people were nowhere near.
….my first visit so got to the ground nice and early, on my lonesome, had a look around and found my ‘brick’.
- Turnstile 20; my son downloaded his ST onto Mrs Eggs phone so I took that and got in no bother. The other side of the turnstile & immediately handed a programme.
- Bit of a hike up to the concourse. Can’t remember how many flights of stairs but it’s plenty. Passed one old bloke taking a breather half-way up, I’m 69 myself and thighs like Bob Latchford required. Not sure of the logistics for escalators but would be beneficial.
- Concourse was lively even at that time. Bloke belting out Beatles songs etc added to the atmosphere, I thought that was good. A number of counters for food, I headed to the main one and served immediately by a young attendant. I’m not one for eating or drinking at footy, it wouldn’t have been on my agenda at Goodison but there’s £10 to spend.
- Pie was recommended, so I ordered chicken pie & coffee, put the ST in front of the reader and my order was quickly in front of me. The coffee was black so I asked for milk and the young attendant said it’s available with spoons etc on separate stations. Fair enough, opposite was a stand with milk, stirrers etc. Plenty of space to stand but not a lot of room to put a cup down (even at that early time), folk were mainly standing looking out of the windows over the concourse with their drinks on the window ledge. I wasn’t hungry, bit of a waste but had a couple of bites out of the pie and drank half the coffee. The pie was ok, the coffee wasn’t Costa Coffee, more instant type of stuff but ok.
- Toilets well signed along the length of the concourse (surprised I had to queue when I visited at half-time). Merchandise available and all the time the lad on the little stage was belting out the golden oldies.
- Another hike up to row 57 but it is a wow of a stadium. As it filled up, a swathe of empty seats remained at the back of Club View. Apparently these are allocated to ‘Seat Unique’ but not purchased for match day. Found an old mate of mine sitting directly in front of me so no more on my lonesome.
- With the way the match was, I remained to the end, joyously witnessing that Grealish moment. No trouble at all in coming down the stairs, back onto the concourse and then encounter the descent to ground level. It flowed very well, as did my leisurely stroll along the Dock Rd & back into town. Despite the offer of lifts, I wanted to have a rare excursion on public transport so got the bus home from the giratory. It filled quite quickly but not much more than an hour or so after the final whistle I was back home in West Derby.
All in all, I enjoyed Club View experience. I imagine they have fixed some of the teething problems of the first games, so good on them for that. Concourse atmosphere with the band playing is good. I suspect the food experience will improve, maybe aligning meal deals with £10 spend, maybe even a coffee franchise along with the beer counters.
Big issue is the climb to the concourse, particularly for those who struggle with such a challenge. Maybe something the club will have to address.

It has improved a lot since the Brighton match. Each week there has been an email sent out indicating some of the highlighted problems they've addressed.
I imagine it'll take a few more matches to get it spot on. The hike to the upper regions is going to be difficult to address though.

There’s a lift available for those with mobility difficulties,my mate’s father-in-law uses it.
I’ve not given an update for a couple of games, here goes. 65 yrs old reasonably fit if a bit overweight, slowly loosing some weight 
Little or no queueing to get in the turnstiles, the the hike up 6 flights of stairs, it’s OK but does result in me getting even more hot and clammy after the walk from Moorfields on the dock road.
Queues for the food have reduced significantly and the staff seem to be getting into the swing of serving quickly, chicken burger is my choice and it’s fine it sucks £9.75 off my credit leaving nothing available for the remaining 25p, a meal deal thing with food and a hot drink at £10 would be ideal, I know I’m not getting beer in a deal for £10, having said that I had a beer at the Villa game to use up the credit carried over from the 1st game cock up, a San Miguel, it was the worst pint I’ve ever suffered, there no way I’m going to buy another, at a push I’ll buy a can if I want a beer in future.
No problems using the toilets before and after the game, I can hold on long enough not to need to go at half time, quite and achievement at my age I reckon.
The things I have issues with are, lack of escalators, there’s lots of “mature” people in CV, many need easier access, most would like it, the singer in the concourse, I don’t really need it, not a major problem, it just doesn’t add anything to my day.
Main issue is where we sit row 57 seats around the 200 mark there’s a batch of 6-7 seats in front which have been empty the last two games, and different people each other game, so clearly match to match purchase seats, that’s fine, I just want them filled not empty. And as other have said elsewhere there was a block of about 200 empty seats behind from row 60 to the back at the Palace game, surely if they haven’t been filled by Seat Unique who I assume have them, they should go on open sale a couple of days before kick off, and I hope they review the allocation to open up more ST seats for the waiting list, we need as many regulars, as well as the game by game fans.
Will I stay in CV? yes I think so, I like the view which was the main reason I went for it, I’d be happy to have the £10 credit optional or removed, but I’m sure that’s never going to happen.
