how "Sad" am i ?

Dont know if anybody else does it but for the last few years i have been cutting our season ( League games ) into 5th's.
I have it in my mind that every 7 games should hopefully yield us 10 points,

7 games = 10pts
14 games = 20 points
21 games = 30 points......etc

So by 35 games we should/will/might be on 50 points, a good finish and we can get to 59.

You see i've got euro football in mind before a ball is kicked and that target is usually enough to get there.

Get's [Poor language removed] tense when we fall short of one of those milestones though, it make the next 7 games even harder point wise as we would ( at least in my head ) be playing catch-up.

At the moment we have played 13 games and got 20 points, ( 3 points ahead of schedule ), that means we only need another 10 points from the next 8 games to still be on course, we will better that no problem.

i think this keeping tabs on the points thing stems from our years of flirting with relegation mate, looking at the top of the table these days though eh!

last season aston villa had 50 points... and finished in 11th. i'd like to think our target would be a little bit higher than that. I'd say it'd be more reasonable to expect 12 points off every 7 games, since 10 out of a potential 21 is not anything to be proud of.

obviously 50 will beat relegation, with our form this season i'm really not worried about that.

Nothing wrong with this appoach, I believe we are not doing too bad, and could be better off if we were not robbed be the ref. in the RS game, we would be looking to get onto 26 points in our next game!

I agree we should be looking for 12pts/7 games as our target. Thats equivalent to 3 wins ,3 draws and a loss from those games, and to 65pts thru the season, which is the kind of total we should be aiming for in order to call the season a success and qualify for europe. 11pts would be fine even, equating to 59/60 points, but i believe if u aim a little higher then it doesnt matter so much if u fall a little short
