If I wasnt a Blue, I would be curious to see if he actually could.

But as I am, a Blue, I agree with you.

Mate the evidence is already there, he stepped up to a 'bigger' club in comparassion to what he'd been managing when he went to Newcastle, had money to spend there - with Walsh as his head of recruitment, made an absolute mess of it and was sacked within 7 months - as was Walsh.

rebuilt his reputation again at Blackburn - then had his next 'big chance' at West Ham - again that ended in a utter mess, cue rebuilding his rep at Sunderland, getting 'another' chance at the England job - lasted 1 game until he ruined again that chance for himself.

Why would someone used to managing at a certain level and under a certain level of expectation - and who anytime he has gone out that comfort zone - failed massively, suddenly be able to do it if he jumps up another level again?

It's like saying Rodgers, Sherwood, Moyes would have made it if only they had the real madrid, Barca job etc

That's not really a surprise given considerably more people visit GOT than pass through the gates at Goodison.

I cringe at the match going shout as if it's something of real significance or makes someone a "better" fan or give their opinion more authority. It doesn't.
Living in or close proximity to Liverpool makes it easy to go to the game
I travel over 5/6 times a year and it doesn’t come cheap , flights , hotel , beer etc
I’ve a son living in London and I only travel over to see him if Everton are playing in London

A lot of members on here clearly don't go the match and are armchair warriors. Nuff sed ;)
Good luck on filling the 61,878 stadium if the only supporters that matter are the one's that can go every week. If I lived in Liverpool, I would go every match, but I don't and can't. That doesn't make you a bigger, better or more special supporter than anyone else. I have supported the blues for 38 years, bought shirts, get to games when I can but it is not that often. Big clubs have global mentalities, not ones that stop at the city boundary. Sorry to rant a little, but if this ridiculous mindset that only regular Goodison goers have the right to an 'informed' opinion, then let's shut down the forums and you can all discuss over a plastic glass of Chang at half-time.

So my point stands then, a forum cannot be representative as it's a mixed bag. With regards to your 'rant' I hear you but I am a season ticket holder so any conversations had at half time, sadly, will be lost on you. cheers

I don't stay in Liverpool either but if I did I'd be there and shouting the team on. Also, feeling good when they win. It's like being a kid again, I suppose.

Instead, I sit booing into the ether while listening to uninformed commentators on the satellite channels.

I do think one gets a totally different perspective - not necessarily better or more objective - when attending the actual match.

I don't think its remotely representative, but that is online forums for you. I got the game with 5 blokes, 2 of us are on this forum, of the other 3, two are 70+ and wouldn't have the first clue and the other just aint bothered about forums

Is there a single medium that would be representative of all of you?

As for "going the game", even if you spoke to them all - is 30k+ sufficient as a representative of the entire fan base?

As I replied earlier - 'Given the number of Evertonians on the site - GOT is EFC's biggest fan platform - 6-12m pages loaded a month from visitors in over 80 countries, 300k social media fans, 100k subscribers and so is inevitably representative - the question is to what degree and what significance that is'

To answer that, you can try and offer another medium that would be more representative.

Totally agree with that, I just think that the club is everyone and that if you only listen to the regular Goodison attendees you miss the vast vast majority of supporters out, who all have a valid point. Forums, however controversial points are sometimes, are a good way of reaching them.

Yup. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, no question.

When you go to the games though it's a day out! Expecially if you have kids and have to get them on buses, feed them etc. When the team wins it's been a good day. You're grateful!

Last night I bit a few nails in the last ten minutes, posted some sardonic remark in here and strolled into the kitchen for a cuppa.

I don't think it particularly needs to be representative to be a great, enjoyable platform, which it is.
