Some Lids wre trying to get me to tag along to Notts County for the FA Cup game, I was in Gansgear as my mar was paying for a Kappa tracky for my b/day, "your not going round town with yer mar and auntie are you lad""no I'm getting the train home while they go shopping""earyar lad, were all off to Nottingham, get in with us lad there's tons of us"I just went home tbh. running the gauntlet of Spurs fans arriving and running into town in numbers & on reflection my new white tracky top (royal blue sleeves) would've been totalled in the Notts Monsoon that day
It would have Reidy. belted down that day and the end that gray scored in was open.
Went by car and arrive just in time , and dropped my mates off outside the ground as i parked up, along with a notts county supporting preist we had picked up along the way we had got lost and he was standing by a bus stop with a scarf on, i just stopped and told him to get in and show us the way , he bottled it but the lads semi bundled him in , luckly he was going the match as well because nobody had though to ask him, that would have been a good one everton fans kidnapp preist?,
He was a good laugh as it turned out, and he stopped my mates getting thrown out as i had dropped them outside the notts county end, and when we scored they went nuts, only for him they would have been lashed out of the ground,
I could write a bleeding book about the going on at the game those days ,never seemed to be straight forward just go to the game and get back again.

You're just too well rounded mate.

I was a boring old fart even back then!

Couple of pics you might recognise:

I didn't think I was much of a scal, but tripping down a well lubricated memory lane with the kids one night I got lots of wtf's omg's...and all the **** you used to give us when we were kids
So it's all maybe relative to the era

A bit, but I did grow up in the loving arms of the Wirral care system under Thatcher. Went off the rails between 14-17 but then I looked at myself and realised I was only going one way and decided to knock it on the head. Most of my mates growing up are either in and out of prison or sadly no longer with us.
