As the title says but do you feel you sleep too muxh or too little? Does too much sleep affect your mood or make you feel great?

Weekdays I don't sleep as good, maybe because its on my mind that I have work and need to be up at 6. I aim to be in bed for 10-10:30 otherwise I will be completely knackered the next day. I sometimes wake up around 3am-4am and struggle to fall back asleep.

Weekends, it is very rare I stay awake past midnight but sleep longer, I have literally just opened my eyes after going to bed at 11:30. Have I slept too much?

I think your sleep requirements depend on how active your life is.

It is not very often I wake up and feel great these days.....

7-8 hours. Now I'm retired, I go to bed when I'm tired and get up when I wake up, sleeping the sleep of the just.

Your disrupted sleeping pattern seems to suggest that you're fretting about something . Something like a nivea box set or a relationship or something , I don't know . I'm just guessing .

Tell us your worries .

In the past, I would easily get along with four or five hours a night due to the nature of my work, shift patterns and basic life style.

In my mind and to most people it had little or no effect on me, however looking back I was much more aggressive and irritable in situations.

Slowed down a lot in the past few years, so I'm not looking more at a comfortable seven or eight hours a night (minimum) and it has helped a lot.

I have to get up at 4.45 am depending on my shift and used to have a disturbed sleep worrying about sleeping in . I stopped worrying about sleeping in slept fine and never slept in ....yet.
Have a couple of alarms your normal one and your phone.
Good luck

I sleep poorly, usually tossing and turning quite a bit for several hours a night (like many others). So I try to get into bed by 10:30/11 and up by 6:30, but it's not a continuous stretch of sleep unfortunately.

My GF is one of those folks who can fall asleep on a dime. She's like a Navy-Seal...can take a quick 10 minute, deep-sleep nap in public while standing up. Then right back to the task at hand. Wish I could do that.

More generally, the idea of sleeping in public, on a train, on a plane, in a library, etc., is very foreign to me. How do people do that so easily?
