How does it feel to be Everton supporter in September 2016

I thought when I put this thread up that I may get castigated by the nay sayers with doom and gloom or the opposite and would get the "over the top" brigade with predictions of Champions League.
Glad to see a measured approach with people realising that we haven't really been tested by a quality side but enjoying the moment.

It feels better than in a very long time. Especially not feeling scared to death anylonger when the opposition is in our box

It's probably a bit weird, but I'm really enjoying watching us when we have to defend this year.

I just feel so confident that our defence is able to deal with everything.

Can't remember ever feeling that way watching us. Under Moyes we'd defend well, but were always prone to cocking up in the most heart breaking of ways.

Sure they have not played a tough schedule so far but they also have all nine points from the games where you say "they should be winning that." I firmly believe teams screw up good seasons by throwing away points against inferior sides. Keep those to a minimum and get a decent return from the top teams and it will be a very good season.

Excellent. Don't want to get ahead of myself though. Is brom, Sunderland and Stoke but these were teams were lost points to last season and we look so much more assured and confident across the pitch.

Sunderland were terrible last night.

For me the best part is having a manager who changes tactics and players when it's not going according to plan.

That is it exactly. It seems to me that Koeman can see and read a game far better than RM could ever do as evidenced by the subbing. But early days yet many more games to go plus cup comps.

it does though build confidence in the players.

I've been going to Goodison since the mid 60's, and seen lot's of highs and low's in that time. It was only last season that I seriously considered boycotting the place. The reason= Sheer Boredom!

With Martinez gone, it is as if the shackles have been taken off, and we are back to our old selves.

With the new dockside stadium a real possibility, more signings promised in the January window, and a team no longer endlessly passing balls across the back four, it's happy day's.

It's a good time to be a Blue. Things are moving ahead with the club both on and off the field and I am choosing to trust that we are on the right path. Excitement got the better of me in the summer and I dreamed off major signings but in hindsight I don't think we have done too bad at all. I still believe we will be securing these Grade A player's sooner rather than later.

The improvements on the field are more easily tangible than the boardroom stuff and I'm liking what I'm seeing. An actual game plan, a fit team who can defend a cross, a keeper who can catch and a ruthless manager on the line to pull it all together.

It's been too long in coming but things are starting to fall into place for us. The next 5 years at this club will be an era that future Blues are reading about in 100 years time.

No pressure Moshiri lad, but we're all watching.

I'm just glad people are talking about football on the pitch rather everyone thinking they have a clue what goes on at board level. Anyway back on topic, positively all over the gaff here it's boss, it's very hard not to get carried away because of the drivel we've been put through for years!!! Rom 3 in 3, you've got the jags williams partnership in defence looks solid, bolasie adding a bit of flair and pace, Barry just being Barry, and Gueye putting fires out all over the pitch! :hayee:

We play in a league awash with money and it will be difficult but the development at Everton is truly positive.

For me one thing that stands out is we have a competent manager who won't be fazed and awestruck when we come up against the Superbrands with their star coaches and £300 million teamsheets. Koeman has played for THE superbrand Barcelona and THE star coach Cruyff and has learned all there is to know.

When you have been a mainstay in a team coached by Cruyff is Jose Mourinho or Antonio Conte going to faze you? This is important. We don't want Everton's manager thinking he is an extra at the star parade.....Koeman won't.

I'm ignoring the doom and gloom merchants still slagging off Moshiri and Bill etc, with cautious optimism however. Everton are a big company, they don't sit their doing nothing all day, they will have a business plan, or project as Moshiri calls it and they will have all sat round the table and said this is where we are going, and this is how we are going to get there. Let them do the job they are paid to do and enjoy the wins as they come. We won't win them all but by god its better as most have said, than watching us fall apart every weekend.
