How did Arteta deal help our situation, financially?

sweet jesus, HE KNOWS THE FIGURES, whats the out come with the bank?

Plus 10 mill mate. Here's a letter I recieved from Natwest a minute ago.

Dear Nik,

Everton made 10 million by selling Mikel Arteta. This helped the debt situation a little bit. They also saved money on wages.

Love, Natwest x

Well Arteta and Yakubu cost us nearly £6m a year in wages but on the flip side I hear Drenthe is on £40k a week.

Better than giving out £125k on two players a week, especially when one is past it and the other is always warming the bench.

I wonder right, if we sold Arteta earlier, if we would've made a run at Joey Barton...

Real Sociedad took their 10% didn't they? So we made £9m off the transfer fee.

Maybe agent fees also, or do Arsenal foot that? For other costs see attendance figures and shirt sales, and depending on where we finish in the league table it could cost us, although that'll be open to debate.

Whatever the exact figure it clearly has given breathing space - it's like having your credit card maxed out at £5000 and then coming into a £1000 and paying a chunk of the outstanding balance off. Makes you feel good about yourself doesn't it? I suspect it's the same for club and bank at moment.

well said :)

A little off topic, but I haven't paid any attention to our transfer window, someone update me:

Speaking of Yakubu, we shoulda let him leave to West Ham last year, shouldn't we? Anyone know the details of the loan contract that Leicester gave us ? Did they at least cover all his wages? How about Yobo? Back to Fenerbahce on loan for another season, do they pay us any money or is he just gonna walk on a free when his contract expires?

Well with all the money saved on wages/transfer fees I think its safe to assume we've appeased the banks for now at least, I'd of hoped that Pienaar/Yak/Becks/Vaughan appeased the banks and that we'll get the £9m from Arteta to send in January. It'll be criminal if Davey doesn't get that to spend.

i think we can assume that we will have new players after next trans.window
