His 70s output was brilliant. My biggest regret musicwise was missing him at Glastonbury to watch basement jaxx ! Seemed like a good idea after 4 gary abletts.doh
I did exactly the same thing that year. Beta Band played before the Basement Jaxx on the other stage and both were boss, but Bowie is something else. Wasn't a fan at the time, I was a 16 year old kid in fact, but if I could go back now and change it I would.

He's ok, but in the collaborations he's done, and I'm thinking specifically of Under Pressure and Let's Dance (or "Gerrin' Up?" in scouse) he's totally outshone by Queen and Stevie Ray Vaughan respectively.

Then there was this;

his last decent work ???

Remember getting sent to bed early one weekend because I said he was only alright.

My old man made me listen to all his albums that week

Fame is boss like.

But he's still only alright.

Sorry dad.

Just [Poor language removed] fantastic. Watcj that famous clip of him singing starman on top of the pops or the life on mars video.he was amazing and a million miles from anyone else then or since.love early Bowie
