How boring are we to watch?

Going back to Barkley's brain, I don't think he has the awareness yet to know what's going on around him. A lot of what he does is instinct., but he's certainly not an intelligent footballer.

The difference with Rooney at his age is incredible. As a person, you could tell he was as thick as pig sh1t, but his football intelligence was head and shoulders above anything else we had in the pitch at the time.

Ross Barkley is nothing like this.

I'm going to just come out and say it. Barkley has the potential to be a class player, but he won't be. His mental strength isn't good enough. It's this mentality that will hold him back from making the necessary steps to becoming a great.

Now, he's only young and he may develop awareness, intelligence and mental strength as he gets older. I just can't see it, though.

He's a confidence player, and those types of players only flourish when they feel ok. When things aren't going so well, you need players who grit their teeth and play well anyway regardless of what's going on internally.

Ross isn't one of those players

Totally agree, i said this near the beginning of the season and got slated. I'm not saying too much because people think i hate the lad. But you're spot on. In my eyes he won't become world class. Far too many things he doesn't do right. I know he's young, but he's incredibly average...and his performances have been below average

Has the technical ability but the mentality is all wrong, still has the ability to make it, but always thought he was a bit too hyped, certainly looked a step up from Rodwell and Gosling though
