Household Expenditure per week...

Isnt the average household income about £24000 though? Note, not average wage, average household income.

Credit aint income though is it? Thinking of child care, housing benefit, etc etc.

But on the subject of credit, or debt, it is horrifying.

It's not checking income though - the survey I mean.

I think the explanation is that people aren't putting credit as an expenditure because they're not paying it back, so debt levels generally must be sky high for that figure to be right.

Hate this sort of analysis. Yes you can 'average' out the figures, but there really is no such thing as 'the average family'
All families are made up of complex and varied individuals (very complex in the case of my family)

Yeah I know.

Do I spend £500 pw plus? Some weeks, maybe, if poll tax, gas etc all get paid that week. About the only weekly outgoings that are consistent are petrol and food.

Whatever the figure, I would say that nowhere near enough is being spent on dairy products.

Do your duty citizens and eat pizza with extra mozzarella whilst drinking a cold glass of refreshing milk and finish with a yogurt or a little more cheese. Bliss

It's what people on spending money with, credit.

That's why expenditure is so high.

I'm lucky, I got into loads of debt when I was 20 and made redundant. It was a tough lesson but I save for stuff now and rarely buy stuff on credit

Aye. Me too, and the same. Credit is for emergencies like busted tyres or something.
