Anyone ever do some work on the walls of their house?






Basically looking to widen door from the Living room to the dining room from a single door to a double, and also widen the doorway from the Kitchen to the dining room to open up the area...

Anyone know if that would be an expensive job?... Cheers

Ignore anyone that gives you dodgy advice about it being a load bearing wall and just take a sledgehammer to it mate.

edit : Exhibit one, @The binman chronicles' post below. Give him five minutes and he'll probably tell you he has a mate who can put an RSJ in for you.

Shouldn't be the biggest deal in the world, are your walls solid brick or wooden/metal framed?

The living room wall is likely to be load bearing so will probably need suitable reinforcing.

Time to finally put up that garage, for me. If Trump weren't the Commander In Chief of the world's largest military and an absolute stickler for the law (coughs) I'd bring you over, lad.
