I know it isnt perfect, but FFS, why is it that only (Lib Dem) politicians think;

1. At the present time, are there not slightly more important things they could sort out, and,

2. Is it only politicians that think the answer to a problem is even more politicians???!!

They scare me, this lot. Idiots with their hands on the levers of power. Good grief.

House of Lords = shower of unrepresentative [Poor language removed] who should be taken out with baseball bats.

Well in Dave! Not a huge fan myself, but I would prefer some independent(ish) body keeping some sort of check on the Commons, democratic or not.

Find it sad that the libdems are rolling out Red Charlie K to appeal to the Labour MP's this after spending the last 2 years ****ging them off for everything from the deficit to the weather,they really are nasty,horrid people.

Please do some research before spouting ill informed opinions on the merits of the proposals and the majority of House of Lords itself.

Talk about rearranging the chairs on the Titanic. They just don't get what real choice and freedom are. As liberals they are a joke.

Sadly it seems the Liberals have been infiltrated by the right wing the so called "orange bookers" the sad thing is when theyve finished the party could well be decimated

Liberals were typically defined by wanting to get out of voters lives as much as possible, ie they were socially left wing, and economically right wing.

The modern incarnation seems to be the opposite, seeking to dictate how we live, be it through very high taxation or extensive environmental legislation.

Sadly they seemed to have taken more from the SDP (ie ex Labourites) than they have from the classic liberals when they merged in the 80's.

The Lib Dems are asking Turkeys to vote for Xmas. Good luck with that.

I wonder what other wonderful policies Cleggy will be looking to implement before he polls the lowest number of votes ever seen by the three main political parties?

Electoral and parliamentary reform has been a big Liberal Democrat totem for a long time. They're pushing it because they know it's probably the only chance they'll ever have to get it on the agenda, because they'll most likely get wiped out at the next election. Labour and the Tories are happy with the status quo becasue it favours the pair of them.

The AV referendum already got ruined by people so shortsighted as not to realise that although AV wasn't the answer to electoral reform, voting for it would mean at least electoral reform stayed on the agenda, whereas now we'll be stuck with FPTP until probably after we're all dead.
