Hottest was Luxor at +42c but that was a few decades ago. It was +40c when I was in Cordoba this past June. Coldest is where I live, Edmonton, Alberta -44c.

So am I still winning this?

One time, in Hawaii during the summer, we had a change of command at the SEAL team. All in formation on the 'grinder' (tarmac concourse) and when the command to 'fall out' was given upon the ceremony conclusion, everyone left the heels of their dress shoes attached to the grinder. Sticky black gooey rubber mess!!!!!

Spotted a flaw in my education here. I'm 36 years old and I have NO idea how to convert farenheit temperatures into something understandable, like English.

Anyway:

Hottest: Ephesus, Turkey. 48C and something horrific like 80% humidity. Felt like I was a cracked egg in a giant frying pan. I swear I drank about 20 litres of water that day, sweated twice as much out and did not pee a drop for 48 hours. I am in awe of other posters who have endured hotter, I don't know how you manage it.

Coldest: French Alps, not sure which visit. Something like -20C with a wind chill making it feel colder. But I don't really feel the cold, so don't pay much attention to it. I would much rather be ten degrees too cold than even one degree too hot. I'd consider leaving the UK because it gets too hot in the summer for me, for about three months solid every year.

No one really knows lid.

The meteorologists guild of temperate advisors keep it a closely guarded secret. Rumours about that they fitted up Fred the weatherman with this noncing thing because he was hopping to Ireland and telling people who had no business knowing.

stay well away
