Important topic this is, so a bit of background music to set the tone...

There are a lot of hot sauces on the market, tried and true faithfuls like Tabasco, newcomers like the cholula stuff with e mexico twist, and then corporate behemoths like who make my current favourite 'nandos hot chili sauce' (it is the lime in it that makes it just spectacular). Grilled chicken wraps with some basic salad on warm naan/wraps with a bit of garlic mayo, a sliver of bbq sauce and then a significant amount of the nando's sauce is a twice weekly favourite (granted bbq'd chicken is bestest)

So thats my current fave, the 'daves insanity hot sauce' I have bought and tried, I have that one bottle, and it will probably last me 100 lifetimes. Anyway.

Your fave 'hot sauce' and the food you enjoy it most with.
lets see who makes 'your ma' jokes first. whoever it is is a prize winning bell tickler

spent the morning at South Devon Chilli Farm. Left with near 50 quids worth of sauces, chocolate, chutney, and a plant and seeds. Current fave is dragons blood.

Btw there is already a chilli thread.

Cholula for me, love it with some breaded chicken in a wrap with mozzarella.

The Nandos extra extra hot stuff is ace for dipping chips in.

Franks Red Hot is a current fave for me, drizzled over some chicken wings it's fkn ace

I too own a bottle of Dave's Insanity, yet to make a dent in it though as one small drop is far too much

ASDA on Smithdown has got a great selection in the world foods section, completely different to other ASDA's too, probably due to it being located in such a wonderfully cultural and diverse part of the city, try the jamaican scotch bonnet sauce in the small Tabasco style bottle, only 48p and it tickles your tastebuds and gets those endorphins popping !!! nom nom nom

Dave's Insanity sauce for me too, its top stuff. Boss for making spicy beans/noodles with. One or two drops is really all you need, 3 in a curry if you're feeling zesty.

It was a toss up between that and Ghost Chilli sauce in Tesco, but I wimped out.

Dragon's Blood by the late Chillipepper Pete if I want to make something really hot. Tabasco habanero for flinging on everything else for a slight kick, encona for dipping.

Cholula is a nice one.

El Gringo Bandito is quite nice too. I don't go for the 'so-hot-they-burned-my-nipples-off' variety. I like the flavour. Dave's Insanity Sauce is just hot vinegar if you ask me. As are lots of 'sh*t-your-pants-scary-hot' varieties.

Been wondering about this 'daves hot sauce'.

For a couple of quid and slinging a few teaspoons down the plug hole, anyone accessing your fridge will have you down as Superman and Wolverines love child. But really, that is as far as it goes, it is so hot the word 'hot' doesnt come close to the perspiration you'll exhibit when getting near the stuff, let alone wolfing a needletips worth. Not funny hot is how i'd describe it.

This is my current fave, it is the lime and lime rind in it along with tasty chili that makes it my current cut above.
