I don’t mind it myself but have seen others questioning whether it’s humane or ethical as it feeds gambling.

Something on the news earlier, there is horse racing in the UK every day of the year except for 3 days.
It has the most spectators of any sport* after football.
I can understand the animal rights militia re use of the whip and the number of horses needing euthanising due to terrible injury.

He could have led with their being more medicine in competitive horses now than the entire pharmacy at the nearest hospital.….I find discussion with posters who don’t like the sport a bit pointless, nobody will change their opinion.
LAD????????Personally never had any interest in it, I can see why people enjoy it but the gambling side isn't for me, if banning it because of gambling, then people will still bet on other things, ban it because it's cruel? I don't know if it is, maybe the horses enjoy it, without the racing there isn't much call for horses as pets or for industry
