Horses are boss. There's no two ways about it. They jump fences the size of which they have no business jumping, and some of them run 4 miles and can still manage a sprint finish whilst carrying 11 stone, sometimes more.

I'm a big fan of horse racing, and I'm sure a few of you lot are as well. What with Cheltenham round the corner, and the Grand National in April, I felt it was time for a horse racing thread.

I'm going to share my bets with you lot, as with you lot being fellow blues I feel almost honour bound to share what little wisdom I possess. I backed the winner in both the 2008 and 2011 Grand National, and I've only been doing it since 2007.

Cheltenham:

Ryanair Chase; 15th March 2:40. Somersby @ 7/1.

Gold Cup; 16th March 3:20. Grands Crus @ 7/1

Grand National:

1) Quantitativeeasing @ 33/1 - Boy does this horse have another gear. I backed him at Christmas over a 3 and a half mile race, and he was back in fifth coming up to the last furlong, trotting along nicely. He then steamrollered past everyone else for fun, when he had very little room to do so. I've no doubt he can last the trip, and if he does he'll be perfect when it comes to the long run in. I've slapped a serious amount on this fella.

2) West End Rocker @ 16/1 - Won the Becher Chase, always a good indicator of how they'll do in the real thing as its over the same fences. Very unlucky to be brought down last year, if luck is on his side he'll go close. Also, he's carrying under 11 stone, always a good sign.

3) Calgary Bay @ 25/1 - Convincing in his last 2 wins, and is a HUGE horse. He fell last time round in 2011 by OVER JUMPING the fences. If he stays on his feet this time round, he'll go close.

4) Ballabriggs @ 16/1 - Won it last time out, and I was delighted. Carrying too much this time round to win it, but he will place.

Who have you lot gone for?
