I hate Aldridge with a passion, but what this guy does possess is passion. He doesn't sit there and praise the opposition, which is exactly what Horne does in every game he comments on.

He should be a fan and leave the commentating to the commentator. Not one Evertonian sitting the that stadium would have been slavering over Readings superb defence. Perhaps he should be criticising our own team as we were poor.

I'm typing this and I an hear is that prick praising Reading. [Poor language removed] off Horne!!!

Reading deserved the win. I partially agree with Horne here. He should be able to mix in the criticism for us with a little credit where it is due.

hes absolutley right.

just called valente poor.

he has praised reading and justly so.

now hes questioning the hibbert sub. - said he did brilliantly against hunt.

horne - nuno off .. nevs to LB.

ossie - poor

victor didnt do much of anything - needs a rest, cant fight monsters like gardener and bikey week in week out, he doesnt have the strength and stamina yet.

You see this is the problem. If Liverpool get beat by Chelsea, Aldo will be looking at Liverpool for reason why they got beat, where as we sit back and admire the opposition.

He did it last year when Taylor scored a good goal. He never once mentioned the fact that we gave the ball away cheaply.

that 40 yard thunderbolt still has me awe inspired. your going to have to work very hard to get praise out of me for mr aldridge

I don't want you to praise him, just admire the way he thinks about his own team first. Ok, Derek Mountfield commentated last season on a game and he was calling it like a true fan. When we went a goal down he was pointing the finger not chomping about the opposition.

We are allowed to be inpartial because its local radio, so why doesn't he do that? Seems he doesn't like to criticise too often. Remember him last year with Davies, the boy could do no wrong even though he didn't do too much that was right.

davies went to fulham and played some good games.

he went back to the capital and thats where he settled in his prefered position.

he also did the business for wales.

horne purposfully said hibbert did well today, im inclined to agree, i feel he calls it fair. he cut into valente, he said johnson wasnt sharp enough, and that arteta had an off game.

what would you have liked him to say?

Well I would have liked him to question why MOyes played Valente instead of Jags. Why he insisted on playing someone who isn't really ready to shoulder the burden of second striker.

Why we didn't pass more efficiently, why we lost the ball too often, why were pumping long balls to strikers who are unable to win the ball, why AJ and Anichebe are not gelling.

Thats what I want to hear, I don't want to hear him talking about how well Reading defended, because thats not the reason we lost. We didn't play well enough to pose a threat and what we do was too little too late.

Have to agree Ghost.

I don't settle for this 'Reading just played better on the day'. That just stinks of lack of ambition. We should be questioning why we allowed them to play better on the day.

Where would Jags have played? Valente is a left-back. With Yobo out, that seems the logical choice. Move Lescott back to the middle and bring Valente on. Baines, from what I understand still needs some fitness work before he comes on.

Can't answer the first part. I was close to ripping my hair out. Anichebe was just [Poor language removed] today. Half-assed everything.

Very true, but there is no harm in recognizing Bikey's performance today, or the way Hunt gave Hibbert a hard time. (Hibbo IMO only made one mistake today, unfortunately it resulted in a goal, otherwise he was good.)

damned either way

if he tears into moyes it would be...

"yobo was forced out, so we had to make that change, but lets not forget the other 10 players were the ones who played so magnificently against spurs"

reading got a draw at man ure, they know how to defend, its no coincidence coppell has brought duberry and bikey in instead of trying to pay his way into a replacement for sidwell.

today was a bad day at the office, and venting at the sodding commentator because he hasnt spoken your mind, isnt going to get anyone anywhere. sorry.

@Dylan,
From what I have seen from Valente this pre-season I would rather see Lescott there and bring Jags into CB.

Anichebe is just proving me right each game, he just doesn't have that edge yet, and I stress yet. But we have no one else at the moment.

He did criticise some play, but unless its Riquelme out there having a [Poor language removed] blinder, I don't see the need to acclaim anyone. Becuase quite frankly I don't give a crap about the opposition, I'm more interested in my team.

Its not a one off though, plus I hate him anyway because of the way he treated my uncle back at Wrexham, did something very naughty and any goal he scores will never make me forget that.
