TrachyBlue

Player Valuation: £6m
I`m not even sure that i have ever posted a thread - I have commented on a few, but not many! If I am repeating anything - please do get rid of my ramblings! Do you remember before the season started last year - we were mostly optimistic. It all went pear-shaped in the early days and pre-xmas in general!
We are looking so much healthier this year and we are seriously underdogs for a top 4 finish - It is going to happen though and i am going for third. I know you are all going to slate me now! Is there any better feeling than optimism as a blue - it doesn't happen very often!!!!
What do you think?

I'd be disappointed with 2nd! We are unstoppable!

Things were terrible last summer, I wouldn't agree that we were all that optimistic.

However I've been very optimistic this summer. Not just because of our form in the second half of last season, but because of the way we were playing. Most clubs were coming to Goodison and getting battered 4-0 without them having a sniff at goal, then we went and put 4 past United at Old Trafford to deny them the title.

People can scoff at the midfield trio of Neville, Gibson and Fellaini all they want, but it is extremely effective, and I have been saying so all summer.

Agree completely! People seem to forget the results we got with them in midfield together.

a great win tonight but like its been said alread lets not get carried away,
that performance though however was one of the best i have seen for a very very long time. if we play like that every game we would win the league,, but we wont play like that every game. so europe would be lovely :)

Don't apologise for starting a positive thread TB!

Still only the first game but if we keep up that sort of performance we should do well

Am I thinking of the year before? Sorry I`ve had a few!

Yeah we were extremely confident a few years ago, lots of us were thinking Fellaini and Arteta would be a great partnership but it never gelled.

It doesn't matter though, I agree that our current team looks promising. I just wish we had Donovan, could you imagine what we would be like if we had him as well? But hopefully Mirrallas can come in and do a great job there?

Nothing wrong with a bit of optimism around here but please do remember that we're talking about Everton here.

They'll disappoint us a few times this season.

Of course they will but for the first time in years we seem to be be somewhat organised personnel wise BEFORE the season started and we do seem to have a good balance to the team, lets pray that Mirallas is even better than we expect C O Y B I B

What we have done well is not let our brilliant end to last season and the atmosphere it created die out, like it seems to every summer break. We have been more decisive and positive, by a/ buying early, rather than last day of the window loans which is a little demoralizing to fans and players alike. b/ We have avoided transfer sagas with our own players e.g Lescott, Piennar etc... the types that drag on and take focus from preparations and when people have wanted to buy we avoided the fuss (Baines) or made a quick decision (Rodwell) c/ Hibbo scored a screamer in pre-season. Its more like we are building on last season as opposed to starting again. but I feel like we have a shot at CL if not more (providing we keep it up and sign 1 or 2 decent players at a reasonable price)
