Generally true. The Dana arc in this series was really lazily written and clichéd and it seemed like the writers realised and just dropped it abruptly, which is kind of annoying because it's pretty bad manners to waste viewers' time and not apologize.
**Potential Spoilers Ahead**
The reintroduction of Brody was initially really good - the individual episode in Caracas was one of the show's best, at least until the fairly boring introduction of the creepy paedophile nihilist drug pusher doctor chap - another flat, clichéd character.
The whole turning of Javadi was too simple and breezy*, and the notion that the CIA would send Brody in for the assassination and attempt to retrieve him was ridiculous. However, the end was both brutal and sad. I agree that they could leave it there, as I don’t have a huge urge to invest time in a new story arc.
*The whole moral struggle Fara (I think? Saul's analyst) went through also seemed ultimately pointless. I imagine the writers will pick up a lot of the loose threads in future seasons, but they expended a lot of time on incidental plots in this season, to the detriment of the believability of the bigger story.
