Hi all,
Apologies if there is already a thread set up had a quick look and was unable to spot one.

Looking at setting up a theatre room and just after some advice from those who have or have had one?

I'm leaning towards an Epson TW6700
110" screen and a Bose accousitmass 10 series for the soeakers. No idea for a receiver yet..

Thanks in advance.

What type of films that you`re planning to air, in your home theatre

I know a bit, but I'd recommend popping over to avforums. Absolutely brilliant advice on there, and I always have a look before I buy any av equipment.

I'm guessing the experts will turn their noses at the bose suggestion. A decent receiver and some proper home cinema speakers would be better in my opinion...

No good home theatre is complete without a glory hole, you're welcome.

Depends on how serious you want to go, and whether your room is one you should bother using for a set of speakers that cost you £300+ each, Atmos, auto-roll-down screen, etc.

One thing info recommend is where possible get a receiver that has more than one output. It's worth increasing your budget just to get that alone.

Yeah that's something I've been considering..

I thought about 5.1.2 and getting roof speakers put in. But the size of the room (and budget) probably won't allow it.

The screen will be fixed. As if it's constantly rolled up when not in use will stretch/warp over time.

Only if you have humidity issues or use it seasonally should you worry about that IMO. I've had my auto roll up screen for 5 years in NYC and it's fine. They're more expensive though not unreasonable. You can also switch to a tab tensioned model if you're worried about warping.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Forget the ceiling speakers imo, put the cash towards a better quality core set up. If I was to do mine again I would consider losing my rear speakers and going all-out on a solid centre speaker.
Don't forget your source is very important!
