I have had mine with Direct Line for years. I know I could probably get a few bob off, but on the occasions I have had to claim, they have been superb to deal with. You are only arsed about the company you deal with when you need to claim. Others I know have been a horror story to get a claim sorted.
They have gone expensive linked to RBS - shop around you do realise all these firms are brokers i.e. Churchill have the same under writers etc!
Saga for me this year tell them on the phone you have had a great imaginary offer from another company they will match it;)

Their premiums have rocketed. Both house and car insurances. My wife got her annual quote, up 30% plus they were charging her £150 for Green Flag recovery, which was only £77 direct from Green Flag. Canceled both and will save about £360.

For the sake of £150 a year I'd say it's a no brainer for the peace of mind. Realistically if something goes wrong in your house it's likely to cost thousands and not hundreds.
