I bought a new house last year and now want do it up. Anybody give me rough costs for

1. Conservatory
2. Loft conversion
3. New driveway

Those are the biggest things I’m looking at right now and don’t wanna talk to any sales nerds yet, anyone that’s actually had these done would be helpful.

No sawdust you beauts

This is the obvious advice, but reign in your scope, take your time, do it right, and spend well.

And budget 1.25x proposed cost, but don’t tell your contractor.

And liberally apply sawdust, just in case.

While you're all here... how much to replace kitchen counter (not including cost of new counter itself)? About 8/9 metres, horseshoe shape, cooker and sink/draining board and few corner cut outs.

Depends what materials/finish you want. Use your old shells to save money. You could get an Ikea kitchen for less than 2k but it'll look like an Ikea kitchen. If you spent 4-5k you'd be looking at good mid range kitchen. It's the doors that'll be the expensive part, depending on what finish you want.

Sorry, I meant literally just the counter-top. Cupboards/doors are fine/ok.

Oh right, depends what you're using. If it's stone/granite then you really need a specialist to cut it out - be 300-500 probably, more if it's complicated. If you're using wood or composite then it's much easier, any kitchen fitter or chippie would be able to do it. Half a days work so probably 150-200 I'd guess.

B&Q should be able to help, take a photo of the rest of it, and measure the depth of it so they can cut it, failing that go to the usual builders places and show them the photo

..of the worktops, not your 'special ones'.
