Tucking into a few bottles of very nice IPA tonight.

Got 45 bottles of lager on the go too but they won't be ready until next week. Not sure about homebrewed lager, to be honest. I remember making it once in the nineties and it tasted just like IPA! Still, I'm sure I'll be able to neck it, especially at 30p a bottle.

IPA's class, probably what kept the empire going.
You on to mashing yet? Wish I had the time and space to set up -- been impossible since we had a baby, but SOON!

No mate. Getting my kits from Artofbrewing.co.uk these days. Might go the whole hog one day. Like you say, though, it's a matter of time and space. You know yourself, you can get 45 bottles of beer from an hour or two's efforts with a kit. I'm a lazy get!

Hahaha, I like flavour and provenance control, but like you say, when time's a factor i'm sure you can pick up a respectable organic kit nowadays :)
Don't you have a couple of months kicking dust coming up like?! ;)

I had a pretty disastrous attempt at making home brew lager years ago when i was 17. Me and my mate added 3 times the suggested ammount of sugar in an attempt to make it stronger (because that's all that mattered to us then) and then found out the barrell we kept it in had a small hole at the top so wasn't airtight. This in turn meant we couldn't add fizz to it. I still managed to drink most if it over the course of about 3 months (usually before going out on Friday or Saturday night), but it was like the foulest tasting Whisky you ever tasted
