So one thing that this season has taught us is that home advantage is only applicable because of fans. There are no other benefits to it, in fact in the Premier league, teams have done better away from home than at home for the first time ever over half way through the season.
Perhaps there is even an advantage to being away with no fans, the travel and togetherness before a game on the way to the opposition could be like an extra galvinisation for teams that gives an edge.
