Can't find my "not sure if serious" gif dave, but if you are serious I'd genuinely be interested to know why.

Because I was listening to your Chairman on Talksport the other night and he was of a mind that you need to have a go at a more refined approach to settle into this division. Hoddle makes some bold formation and tactical decisions that might help a club like Palace be less predictable and furnish enough points to survive this season. He also has an understanding of managing at PL and Championship level and has a knowledge of bringing through young talent - which all PL teams increasingly need.

All that is true and would be great if we were starting with a blank canvas but I'm not sure we have a squad that could play a more refined style. We need a big transfer window in January to get some quality (and not to be too far behind by then)and clubs, players and agents will be holding us over a barrel for fees/ wages etc. Also, although great with youngsters, (and we do have an excellent academy) his man management of established players is less than good apparently with a number of his former players (Le Tissier, Cascarino for example) moaning about his lack of people skills. He is, as you say, tactically inventive and adopts an attacking, passing approach, but that is something the current squad are failing at.
Would you have liked to have seen him at Goodison before Martinez was appointed?

I've always rated him. He was experimenting with systems years ago that are considered 'daring' now. I'm more than happy we landed Martinez, but if we'd got Hoddle I'm probably one of the few who'd have been pleased. I think it's just the non-football stuff that have people running for the hills at the mention of his name.

He would have had a decent squad to work with. Martinez seems to be doing a fair job though, more attacking and attractive certainly.
Fans poll on our forums show Di Matteo as the fans favourite by some way. About as much chance as me hooking up with Cameron Diaz.
