Alan Whittle

Player Valuation: £70m
..just in case anyone is bothered apart from me.
grapevine, (Croydon Guardian, Wiki pages) says being confirmed tomorrow, sky bet has him at 1/4.

err.....fingers crossed then.(y)

I like Palace, and Ian Holloway's a bit of a ****. That said, if he can pull their crumbling act back together here, it'd make me happy.

For most of the last 44 years I would certainly have agreed with you, however, we are unbeaten in ten.

(I'm going to regret saying that at 4.45pm on Saturday):(

Really? FFS. Where have I been this season? Catch me up on the Palace situation, lad. I don't even recognize this year's squad with the departures of Nathaniel Clyne, Darren Ambrose and Sean Scannell. Honestly, I could only name Zaha, Speroni, Moxey and Jermaine Easter on memory. Who are the new lads?

From last season we have Jon Parr, a Norwegian U21 LB, Johnny Williams, a welsh left sided midfielder who has made Colemans full squad recently, we signed Delaney from Ipwswich at CB, Jedinak (Aussie) as a DM is skipper and a couple of last seasons players who were badly out of form, midfielder Owen Garvan and striker Glenn Murray are pulling up trees, Murray is second top scorer in the championship.
And of course Wilf is more or less unstoppable (as is his move to a Prem club very soon :() Less well known is that on the other wing we signed Bolasie from Bristol City, and , on his day, is also a complete handful.

The club turned a corner in June 2010 when the new owners bought the club out of admin which included the freehold of Selhurst Park. We haven't got much dough but to his credit Freedman and Lennie Lawrence made some astute signings and built a decent side for this level.
TBH I'm a bit surprised at where we are and don't expect to finish there........but hey........'ere we go!

Loved watching last year's cup run (if only Palace could have taken down LFC in the final). Darren Ambrose's strike against Man United was breathtaking. I remember exactly where I was when I witnessed that thunderstrike.

Anyway, I'll try and watch a few more matches this year (though finding streams is hard enough for the Premier League). It sounds like exciting times could well be ahead for the Eagles. I guess my opinion was skewed by that abysmal run of form at the end of last season and into this one (2 wins in 18, I've just looked it up). I'm glad to hear that's come to an end though.

It wouldnt surprise me at all if Holloway left Blackpool to go to Palace. The things he's done with Blackpool, got em in the prem, brought all that money in from TV revenue, sale of Charlie Adam and what do they do, give him peanuts to re-invest in the squad and the possibility of what ever gem he picks up (Ince, Phillips) from the lower leagues or reserve sides could be sold in the near future.

He must be sick of not being able to spend a fair bit to give them a real crack at trying to win the league, let alone promotion?!.

It wont be easy at Palace but i bet he'll get a fair crack of the whip down there and who knows, maybe he could do what he did at Blackpool down south?.

Holloway is a smashing chap. Came to North Devon a few years ago for pre-season friendlies. Posed for pics, signed autographs - big smiles. Awesome. I don't want him to leave Blackpool as he is such a good fit for them.

Bad move imo, it'll end in tears.

It always ends in tears. We're Palace FFS.:(

Not done yet anyway, although soon we think. As per usual in these things he's been seen everywhere. He's been in more places in Croydon than last years rioters!

Cheered myself up by getting three tickets for you lot v Blunderland next week. Will be requiring Oxygen if the escalator to the Top Balcony is out of order.
