I'm off to Peschiera del Garda (Lake Garda) on Friday with the family. I've got my GOT app loaded on my phone along with train and bus apps to help us get around when we're not lazing by the pool. Never been to Italy so I'm looking forward to enjoying some sublime food. Fingers Crossed anyway.

Where is everyone else going that is going?

I was there about 15 years ago, it's an absolutely beautiful part of the world. Enjoy it.

Stayed in Sirmione, which is a peninsula about 10-15 mins up the road.

Love this! A nice good news post. I just love being on holiday! The older I get the more I want to be somewhere warm by the sea. Ideally, just me and wife as my adult kids are still annoying. Greek Islands, the more remote the better - just need good walks, good food and a couple of bars.

We will go somewhere in September when it gets quieter - already cannot wait.

Goditela amico mio... don't forget the boat timetables 😁

And don't forget, uno cappuccino, due cappuccini ☕

Not been but did Lake como and it was absolutely unreal. Off to Croatia in 2 weeks, can't flipping wait.

Currently away. Did 3 nights in Budapest before heading to the in-laws in Romania. They're (slowly) doing up an old house that's been in the family for years. Its in the middle of a random village surrounded by fields and with views of the hills. It's semi-modernised but still fairly rustic. Its a lovely place to bum around posting on GOT and reading.
A couple of rural pics would go a long way to establishing setting and atmosphere. Just the views, not the building and it's address.

Have a nice time, I went there last July and drove around the lake. A car isn't necessary and is probably more an inconvenience as its quite easy to get around. I stayed in Limone, and travelled over to Malcesine and up to Riva Del Garda. You're quite South so not sure what it's like around there but it really is beautiful. What are you hoping to do when there? Malcesine is worth a day trip btw.

I went there a few years back. Spectacular scenery. I travelled around in a hire car which was an experience. Lots of long tunnels through the mountains, dodgy roads with steep drops a few inches from the side of the road and the main danger being the local drivers who are completely insane. Enjoy ;)
