Holiday help - or not!

Personally don't stay in hotels. Always book a villa or equivalent as we prefer to have the ability to fend for ourselves when we want to.
Villas can be good but often they are situated out of town so can be a bit of a pain getting home of an evening.

I do an Eggs. Go for the best hotel we can find (4 stars are often OK though) and if we can't afford it this time then there is always the next...

We've cruised twice before and decided the second time to sometimes do our own thing when docking, rather than going on a supervised excursion. It was great seeing places like Pompeii during our first cruise but, apart from an organised railway excursion, did our own thing when cruising the Norwegian fjords last year. Beware anyone visiting Norway, it's damned expensive!
Going to the Lofoten Islands next February with my daughter, can't wait.

After yesterday, and time being able to be spent by the pool, I got a message that my mum has been moved to Bart's Hospital due to her heart condition. I have been wondering why, with her irratic heart rate, that Whittington Hospital hadn't already sent her to be fitted with a pacemaker. After a restless, worrying night I have received the news that Bart's will be fitting one this afternoon. It can rain nonstop for the rest of our holiday and I won't care an iota, because Mum will be OK.
