I agree, its just a shame that the Navy will have to overcome the political mistakes of the 00's and 10's whilst operating it.
"Nah we dont want a steam catapult on it - that would have no benefit except being more capable, a lot more combat tested and it would only allow us to use cheaper, better, faster planes that could carry more weapons to blow stuff up over a further distance. Lets instead spend a lot more money on buying one particular type of untested plane that even the yanks think is a waste of time."

I am not sure about this ship. It has a ramp take off but that is to give assisted lft. I do not think it has any catapults which is a big mistake. All about costings.
