Del-boy

Player Valuation: £35m
With the carrier HMS Prince of Wales being in Liverpool over the weekend did anyone manage to get down to see it.

I was lucky enough to get some of the free tickets and it was a great experience. Absolute massive ship and the crew where very nice as well.

Just need to get some planes for it now.

You have planes for it. Just POW is undergoing sea-trials, so adding the planes onto it comes later. First they are making sure it was built correctly and everything is working as it should. Also, all the lessons learned from the QE will have been implemented and will need to be tested to make sure all is well.

In reality, POW won't be getting planes for at least 6 months (though I would guess at least a year). QE has only just done its 'First of Class Flight Trials' with the F-35's.

Yeah I went down the pier head, but couldn't get on-board as all tickets were sold out. They had what looked like half a helicopter on-deck. Aww bless!

Nothing better than a good killing machine for a day out

It's just a floating car park for planes so I guess it's a floating plane park. Although it has no planes on it it so it's just a park, but there's no trees or swings. So maybe it's just a big boat. Don't see what all the fuss is about.

Maybe because it is a feat of engineering. Maybe because it is a return to the UK having a seaborne airforce. Maybe because in conjunction with the Type-45 & the Astute SSN, the RN actually have some ships at sea that are legitimately good at what they do. Maybe because it relieves the UK's reliance on the US and NATO to protect their economic and strategic interests.

Or maybe, just because, it is cool as hell.

Went yesterday evening when it was quieter. It was just sat there making a menacing humming noise.
