Player Valuation: £60m
Following the Cloughie thread and knowing what heights he reached with Derby and Forest got me thinking,would any of the other great managers of the past,Busby,Shankley,Stein etc be able to achieve the same results in the modern game?
We seen with Howie and Dalglish that the game has changed so would old style management still achieve success?

New style is just old style recycled +money and luck.
If old style means playing to your strengths, passing and moving, defending, proper attitude and fitness, plus all the other basics.
Better players=successful coaches...usually.

not necessarily;
You have to have luck...oh yes you do, If it's all down to the cunning plan / system how do we explain Kendall Mk II & III. why didn't shankly get Huddersfield promoted.
you have to have some idea what you are doing ie what NOT to do.
and you have to be lucky
You have to be able to spot a player that will improve what you have and know when what you have isn't good enough
and you have to be lucky
now a days you need money as well.
never under estimate luck though

There's no such thing as luck.
