Unbelievable that Hinchcliffe got so many votes. He had a good 6 months, that's it.

Hinchcliffe could take a brilliant corner, was a solid defender with a good cross. Baines at his best was excellent free kick taker, superb penalty taker and excellent crosser (apart from corners for some reason). He was also a very, very good footballer and was on a different level to Hinchcliffe. Leighton all day.

Hinchy won us a trophy, great at taking corners as well which is something we haven't been able to do for years!!

Baines has been crap for the last 2 years.

Hinchcliffe is from a different era, I always find trying to compare players from different times very difficult. Nostalgia is always going to favour the older player. I would go for Baines but would like him to have a bit more of Hinchcliffe's stomach for the fight. A bit like all our current squad with a very few exceptions.

Don't see many decent corners these days. defenders are so well drilled. except us last season of course
