And the "freedom" of not being tied to a landline phone. I sold some of the first wave of cell phones for astronomical prices in the 80's to doctors delirious at the prospect of "taking calls" while they were at the golf links. Freedom.

Eventually I think we'll all see something like it after you and I are long gone, but we'll have to go through any number of things that don't work first. UBI doesn't lend itself to mobilizing the kind of support structure that would legislate for its passage. I don't know why, but that seems to be the case. Charles Murray, one of my favorite pariahs, was and is an advocate of the UBI approach.
