so I enrolled on a course that will train me in HGV driving and it also covers some customer service and warehousing skills aswell as health safety certificates ..

its been my first week this week.. all in the class room..

its gone well, and ive also had a medical and driven an assessment route in a hi-lux pick up with a driving instructor..

this weeks gone quick, but ive had to absorb shed loads of info , and write loads of stuff , not done any classroom stuff since school..

passed the medical, even tho my blood pressure was up a tad.. nowt to worry about tho.

will be having to do a big theory test on highway code and also a CPC test, and finally my HGV Class 2 or Class C as it was known..

so far , so good, its something ive always wanted to do.

anybody on here drive lorries for a living and got any pointers, would be very much appreciated

Mate of mine finished here this week, he's just done all his HGV courses etc.
Walked straight into a job for B&Q as a driver.
Clearly in demand are drivers.

Good luck with it mate.

And pass on any dogging tales from car parks and lay-by's please.

I used to drive a pick up truck.

My only piece of advice is dont stay up till 4am playing computer games, its very dangerous if your driving all the next day.

back on the course today after an extended weekend as the tutor was off ...

more filling in booklets on customer relations , health and safety etc etc etc

im hoping we start looking at the highway code for HGV's this week..

weve all been given a login which lets us use the full mock test's , so that we can familiarise ourselves with it

you have to score 85/100 in the actual test and do a hazard perception too..
