Aside from having an issue with Gingers and people who wear glasses, oh and people who are any combination of the two, I have to admit my grudging admiration for the chef-tacular Heston Blumenthal. I don't know about any of you guys but he gives me a funny feeling in my belly.

However I have been told by a friend who has eaten at The Fat Duck, as opposed to myself who has only ever eaten out 'fat ducks' - that his dining experience can be a little forceful, in as much as you have to follow all the instructions on how to enjoy it. Being told what to do by a food dominatrix does not a pleasant dining experience make if you ask me.

Anyway, thoughts gents? Also feel free to add your best or worst experiences.

Basically he bought a dining 'experience' which involved a food Nazi in a suit telling him what's what. Now to me, that smacks of being tad bit authoritarian. If I wanna dip my ciabatta in a bit of tom sauce then that's what I will bloody-well-do.

Neither mate, he's not a genius because he's using an approach and techniques developed by others, but his application's usually interesting :)

-oh, and maybe a nutter for having Marco as a business partner ;)

Well a Heston Lasagne from Waitrose is about £9.00. But I quite like him, but he is nuts. One of his creations involved using a Dyson and an air tight bag to remove moisture from a cake or something.

A mate of mine had the tasting menu at the Fat Duck, cost about £200 per head & took about 4 hours.

He said it was amazing but it wouldn't be for me. Heston has taken great food & combined it with stage theatrics, which is a total nonsense as a far as I'm concerned.

I admire him as he's creative, but he's a bit of a bell.
