What happened in the Gwladys during the City game does anyone know? Looked serious with all the ppl crowding round for 10 or so minutes

we were in the Gladwys for the Citeh game .. right at the back :(, people around us (Stewards too) seemed to be very aware of some hard looking nutter with what seemed like severe Tourette's .. apart from that didn't notice anything unusual.

Pictured with his daughter, Tommy Lefebure, right, has been identified as the Good Samaritan who saved the life of a man choking during Saturday's match.

The Good Samaritan who helped save an Everton FC fan’s life after he began choking on some food during Saturday’s match has come forward.

Many fans praised the actions of the mystery man who rushed to the fan’s aid mid-way through Everton’s 3-1 victory over Chelsea.

His identity has now been revealed as Tommy Lefebure, a 49-year-old Everton fan from Southport.

And, as with all heroes, the dad-of-one remained typically modest about his actions on the day.

He said he first became aware something was wrong when he heard a lot of shouting coming from about four rows in front of him in the main stand.

He added: “People were screaming for a steward. I saw the man’s ears and neck had gone purple.

“I’d done a first-aid course a couple of years ago so I just knew he was choking.

“I ran down, banged his back and did the Heimlich manoeuvre to try and get rid of the obstruction.

“He just came round and the colour came back to his face. I helped him down to where the stewards and St John Ambulance were.

“It was the first time I’d ever put my first-aid training into practice and it was very scary. I just hope he’s ok.”

Tommy said he was a devoted Evertonian who had been attending home games with his daughter, Georgia, 17.

One spectator said of the incident: “He was very quick to respond running from his seat to go straight to the man who was choking. A few fans applauded him afterwards but he wasn’t interested in receiving any accolade for it!

“He even helped the man down the stairs for him to receive medical treatment and returned later to watch the remainder of the game.”
