Hereford Utd Away

The saturday traffic from 10 am is sh1t leave the car if you can everything is walking distance including the train, bus station and pedestrianised town centre.

Hereford centre is within the confines of an old mostly demolished rampart wall, loads of shops, cafes, coffee bars and pubs with a public square with chairs and tables out for leering in the summer sun.

The main feature is the magnificent cathedral which holds one of the oldest "chained libraries" and the oldest known map of the world, the Mappa Mundi and is located on th river Wye - beautiful spot.

If it's sunny wear loose kex cos the women are gorgeous love scousers and are dirty mares the only thing to be aware of is don't say they sound welsh as Hereford is an ancient border town and they hate the welsh (although half of 'em are welsh!). Oh and be careful if they look married and on the pull - every chance they're squadies wives and the squadies in Hereford are the SAS.

Any lads stopping over won't be disappointed there's 2 or 3 decent clubs and umpteen boozers the place is heaving Friday and Saturday night as all the lads and the totty from the surrounding villages and hamlets pile in.

The Premier Inn is typical "Reps" hotel tagged onto a large olde worlde style Beefeater pub (actually called "the starting gate" cos its on the racecourse) it's decent all day grub and is easiest way in and out of Hereford from the North or the Midlands - 10 mins walk from the ground 15mins centre of town, £5 taxi.

Stopping in Brum is an excellent idea if you prefer because the train service is excellent, just over an hour.

I used to live there for 20 yrs still go back for business unfortunately I'll be away this weekend or I'd happily give any lads the tour.

As somebody who regulary visits Edgar Street I can be sure that away fans won't require to pick up tickets before the game. It will simply be pay on the gate. Behind the ground is a big car park, which has all day parking for £1.50. At the ground are two supporters bars which are great for drinks before the game and are reasonably priced. Away supporters will be housed in the Cargill stand which offers both terracing and seating. The view from the seating is great but feels very steep! I am sure the club won't charge for a 7 month old! The ground is certainly in need of development but at the same time still has plenty of character and would be a good day for any blue wishing to travel. How many blues can Hereford expect? 300-400?

Edgar Street is a quality little ground, I love the place!

Saw Southport win there about 10 years ago, possibly more.
