Henry and Yakubu

Yeah I agree. Although it can be a bit frustrating watching a striker just watch opposition defenders pass the ball around with all the time in the world. Thats why i think AJ will do well with Yak, AJ doesnt let opposition defenders settle, while Yak looks for opportunities to score. Good combinations - on paper.

Agreed. Great combination on paper. And if tactics dictate we need additional speed in the game, in comes faddy or vaughn. If we need another big body to hold up balls, vic.

Can't wait to see a "settled-in" Yak combined with a fully healed AJ. Then we can judge if what's on paper meets reality. I think it will.

I knew this would happen. I blame you Sim :P

To repeat, I'm not comparing the two in terms of ability. What I'm saying (if you lot read the initial post :P ) is that Henry, by his own admission, is well below his best at the moment because he has yet to fully adapt his style of play to the way Barcelona play.

So any comparison I was making was in the fact that neither are playing to the top of their ability and that the process of adapting ones game to a new style of play is a big factor in that.

Sorry Bruce, I promise never to stray from the topic again!

It's no coincidence that the performances are improving as he gets better service. That was kind of the point of the thread. He needs to get used to us, we need to get used to him. The team is beginning to find its feet now with injured players returning and new guys bedding in. I still don't think we've hit top gear but we're getting some decent results right now.
