Tbf I wouldn't even try that so fair play to the lad, but his dad must either have a lot of trust in his son/son's ability, or be borderline negligent!!

Get him some decent stills and add some text to the freeze frame that covers the video. It's grabs people's attention.

Normally to be successful you'll have to be multi channel. Insta/twitter/FB/YT.

What's the goal? VLOGing etc?
