ok for anyone with an ounce of networking skills this shud be simple!!

i have 2 computers connected up through a cat 5 cable to my router..

if i then play a game using the 2 pc's through a network i lose the abilty to access the internet..

i cannot search for internet games, and when i come out of the game webpages wont load, although the internet is still active because msn still works and i can chat on thatt.

the only way to sort it is to reset the router which takes about 10 mins to recconnect and thats a pain... anyone know the simple answer??

how are you connecting? through an ISP account or through an 'open access port' (that might not be technically correct - with regards the name.

is your router just plug in and go?

whats the bandwidth of your connection? your two pc's might be sapping the lot meaning the connection cant be made because the games are hogging all the signal.

is there a cap on your isp service?

no cap on my isp

im using 8mb pipex account

the games shouldnt hog much at they are older games

the router did need setting up, but dont understand why it cant accept 2 games playing on the net, while it will have 2 comp on the internet to view webpages etc

i dont even get to the point of lag etc, its just crashes

no im actually trying to play quake 3 over a connection between the 2 comps
