I am traveling to Europe for work from Australia and am taking the chance to get to what will most likely be my only chance in the next 15 years to get to Goodison park to watch the lads v Swansea Jan 12. This will be my first time watching Everton live. Needless to say I would like the true match day experience and am after advice on how to get the best ticket (only need one) what stand is the best to watch from and what pubs to get to pre match and post match. Thanks in advance for your help, can't tell you how much I am looking forward this.

Atmosphere - Gladwys
Best view - Upper Bullens unobstructed
Kopites - Park End
Prawn Sandwiches - Main Stand
Love of heights - Top Balcony

Personally i think the Gladwys is boss, the lower can be a bit grim for actually having a clue what's going on down the other end of the pitch though.

It’s a Saturday 15:00 game just after Xmas so there is very little chance of this selling out.

Just watch for when the tickets go on sale on the site and buy one. Pick it up from the box office. Or you could try the new “print at home serviceâ€￾

As for where to sit. Some people would say if you want the “trueâ€￾ Everton experience you should sit in the Gwladys St. This is not as true as it has been perhaps 15 years ago but it still has a certain charm but the view is pants compared to the rest of the stadium.

If you want a good view get in the lower Bullins as close to the halfway line as you can.

The view from there is superb, but I would honestly swerve it if you're uncomfortable with heights, it's practically a cliff face. God knows how that part of the stadium is still legal.

"Kopites - Park End"
Sorry, what?

Took my fiancée there for her first game, for the first 20 minutes she shook like mad and literally clung on to her seat. For a view of the game though it's fantastic. Like watching FIFA ^^
